36 more days!!!!

Only 36 more days till we leave for India! It’s crazy how fast it’s coming. This past month the fact that I’m really leaving, and actually going to be gone a year has hit me hard.

Every time I think about getting on that plane it’s so bittersweet. On one hand I am so unbelievably excited to get there and meet the people that we will be spending so much time with. Hang out with the kids, see where we’re going to be living, make friends, experience what a “normal” day will be like. I can’t wait to dive into their culture and start learning the language. I am so ready!!! But then on the other hand I still can’t even imagine how much I’m going to miss everyone. I think I’m still kind of in denial about how badly I’m going to miss my family…I don’t think it’s fully going to hit me till we’re actually at the airport saying goodbye. I know that this next year is going to fly by, and I already know I’m not going to want to leave, but right now it just seems so long to be gone.

As all the little details start to fall into place, I am getting more
and more excited though. We have tickets!!!! Our plane tickets were purchased a couple weeks ago, and it’s nice to have an official date. We leave on June 9th. My Visa also came this week! The more I do to get ready, the more excited I’m feeling. Through all the details of leaving lately, it’s all becoming so real. I’m really going to India!! And I can’t wait.
